My New Favourite Film

Hello there!
This is a bit of a weird post as I don't think I have ever done a favourite themed one before but here goes nothing...
My favourite film is Connie and Carla and it's set in America, mainly the LA but Chicago is also featured too and it was made in 2004 but I have however only recently heard of it and watched it.
*SPOILER ALERTS*
There are two main characters, Connie and Carla (well done to all of you who noticed they were the same names as the ones in the title) are obsessed with musicals and that's really how they have bonded so well, through mutual obsession but their jobs in musical theater haven't really worked out that well so their always having to borrow money off their boss Frank. After accidentally witnessing members of the Mafia shoot Frank for stealing their cocaine, they have to go in hiding to LA.
They then wind up auditioning and getting the roles of drag queens in a gay club, which is very different to their usual venue, airports.
Things are going smoothly, well as smoothly as they can with them being women pretending to be men pretending to be women  and their neighbors (who are also drag queens) live next door and can come in their house anytime and find them out to be girls.
The two settle in and  make a pact not to let men interfere with their life after their previous lovers Al and Mikey cheat on them and tell them they are going to get no where in life. However, this pact then causes conflict when Connie falls for Jeff
, the straight brother of Robert, one of their drag queen friends. As the show gets bigger, the two convince the club owner, Stanley , to convert it into a full dinner theater, and eventually their popularity threatens to expose them as they appear on their local TV station, thinking that the head of the mafia won't find them. Little do they know, the head of the mafia has hired Al and Mikey to find them and they do meaning the mafia now know where they are hiding. On the official opening night of the dinner theater, the mob killers catch up with them, but with the help of their drag queen friends, and to great applause from the audience (who think it is part of their act), Connie and Carla take them down. They ultimately confess their real identities to the audience and are accepted for who they are. Connie reveals herself to Jeff, who arrives after the chaos. He accepts her and becomes her boyfriend.

I don't know why I like this film so much but it's actually genuinely really good and you should all watch it.
So yeah...
THE END
